Mount Nathan
Mount Nathan is situated inland from Nerang at the northern end of the Gold Coast on the fringe of the region’s spectacular Hinterland. For those keen on fishing the Hinza Dam is handy and there is some great fresh water fishing available. The area also backs on to the Nerang State Forest.

Mount Nathan is serviced by a number of shopping centres at Nerang. There are a number of small shopping centres including Nerang River Plaza, Nerang Fair, Earle Plaza and Nerang Mall. There is a Woolworths on the corner of New and Cayuga streets and Earle Plaza is also home to Nerang’s cinema complex. There are a number of cafes throughout Nerang.

Recreation
Mount Nathan Winery, which has been operating for over 30 years, produces red and white wines as well as their specialty, honey wine. The winery is open wine tasting and sales as well as for tours. The Historic Rivermill is also located in Mount Nathan and is a popular tourist attraction. The historic mill built in 1910 was Australia’s first arrowroot mill. It is now a museum,with the old machinery intact. There is a good quality cafe and a small animal park where children can feedthe camel, donkeys, horses and deer.
Golf
Historic Rivermill has a three hole practice course with chipping and putting greens. Otherwise the a short 15km drive will take you to Emerald Lakes Golf Course at Carrara, Parkwood International or Arundel Hills
