Monterey Keys is located toward the northern end of the Gold Coast close to the M1 Motorway. It is an upmarket waterfront suburb nestled between Hope Island and Helensvale.

The rivers and lock and weir systems in place in this area make water sports very popular. Cards to operate the locks are available from the Gold Coast City Council. Community sporting facilities in neighbouring suburbs cater to the large population in the area.
Golf
Hope Island Resort is a five minute drive from Monterey Keys. It holds an 18-hole championship golf course designed by five time British Open champion Peter Thomson and his architect firm, Thomson Perrett. Visitors are welcome. Also nearby are the Helensvale Golf Club and Sanctuary Cove’s two courses, The Pines and The Palms.
