Miami is a southern beachside suburb of the Gold Coast. It is popular for its laidback lifestyle and beautiful beach. The Gold Coast Highway runs through the middle of the suburb and the Hollywood-style Miami High sign lets everyone know where they are. The suburb is well serviced with motels and holiday apartments for visitors.

Residential

Miami is built out and dwellings range from beach front units and duplexes to large homes. Homes in the area vary in price depending on whether they are near the water or inland near the highway. Land is unavailable.

Shopping

Shops line either side of the Gold Coast highway through Miami. Pacific Fair, the largest shopping centre on the Gold Coast, is a 10 minute drive and is home to large department stores such as Myer, Target and K-Mart as well as many specialty stores. Miami organic farmers markets are held every Sunday at Miami State High School and are good for fresh fruit and vegetables and other local produce.

Miami is home to one of the Gold Coast’s most popular beaches, loved by surfers and swimmers alike. Miami Surf Life Saving Club is a popular venue and is a nice place for a drink or meal. This area is also home to Pizzey Park where rugby league, rugby union games and baseball take place. Pizzey Park also has a purpose-built skate park.

Golf

Gold Coast Burleigh Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 71 private members golf club which is open to visitors who have an Australian Golf Union or Women’s Golf Australia handicap.
