Ashmore is located about nine kilometres from Surfers Paradise between Southport and Benowa. Families are prominent in this area and there are plenty of activities to keep the kids happy. Ashmore is a diverse suburb with everything from villas to luxury waterfront homes. It is a well established suburb that is elevated, surrounded by beautiful tall trees with some magnificent views of the Hinterland.

Shopping

Ashmore has two separate shopping centres – Ashmore Plaza Shopping Centre and Ashmore City Shopping Centre. Both centres cater for weekly needs and both have a supermarket, chemist, post office and variety shops. Not only does Ashmore include two shopping centres, it is central to Benowa Gardens, Southport Park, Pacific Fair and Australia Fair shopping centres.

Primary Schools: Ashmore, Bellevue Park, Benowa, Guardian Angel’s (Catholic) and St Kevin’s (Catholic). High Schools: Benowa and Keebra Park. Private Schools: Trinity (Lutheren), Aquians (Catholic), The Southport School (Boys) and Emmanuel. Tertiary: Griffith University is only five minutes away at Parkwood and Gold Coast Institute of TAFE is only ten minutes away in Southport.

Ashmore BMX Club hold competitions every fortnight on a Friday night. There is a PCYC that offers kids a variety of activities including dance and martial arts and is home to Southport soccer club, Little Athletics are held during summer on a Saturday and Gold Coast Youth Orchestra Centre is located on Community Drive so there is something for every child in Ashmore. Families will enjoy Ashmore Bowls and adults are not left out as Ashmore Tavern is close by. Central Park Tavern, on the way to Nerang, is also a great place for lunch or dinner.
